The following a list of organizations that have received real money from me during the pandemic. Giving to them is giving to me. The are in order of my favor, but all of them have dollars in their bank accounts that once were in mine.
Yuh-line Niou
is the New York State Assemblywoman (state rep) for the 65th District, Chinatown in Manhattan, the first Asian to hold the seat. That alone is enough to support her, but it pales in comparison to the endless list of reasons to support her re-election. She is wise, compassionate, hard-working, fierce, compassionate, sensitive, loyal, curious, humble, and available. I can get an email reply from her in under an hour, and I don’t live in her district!
If you have a few bucks you want to absolutely be sure goes to someone who earns it the right way, read no further. That’s why I put her first. Below is a picture of her catching some zzzz’s at her apartment in Chinatown while organizing distribution of supplies to the underserved residents in the 65th.

Have Venmo?
Patrick Mock is a NYC Chinatown grocer who has been handing out free food directly to people in his neighborhood who need it. His Venmo is @mott-46. This is simple, send him your balance, call it Meals for Seniors. Done. You’re helping people eat today.

I am relatively new to the
Chinatown Community for Equitable Development
Once I found out that this organization arose out of an effort to keep Walmart out of LA’s Chinatown, I was all-in. Walmart is evil.

When I asked a trusted activist for a recommendation of effective direct assistance efforts during the pandemic on the west coast, CCED was my activist colleague’s unequivocal and immediate answer. CCED is coordinating their CoVID-19 response with the
Southeast Asian Community Alliance (SEACA).

I am donating to both organizations. Like Patrick Mock above, this matters. These are boots on the ground.
